I am inspired by my clients, beautiful places and the books I read.  Here are a few  that I think are worth mentioning…..

SWITCH – How To Change Things When Change Is Hard by Chip and Dan Heath

This is a fascinating look at what the authors feel are the three main components of change. Much of this we already know, but they present it in a way that is really easy to remember and that has HUGE application whether you are an individual, organization or larger group! You’ll be effecting change in your life by the time you get to the end of the first chapter!”

THE EDEN PROJECT: In Search of the Magical Other by James Hollis

For all those of you who think that A.N. Other is going to ride in on a white horse and rescue you, this book will provide a much more workable option.  You and only you are the love that you are looking for.  This has been my most profound read of the year. It will touch your life and free your soul.  It is not your conventional self help book, but what you learn will irrevocably change your life.  What I love about it is that it just presents a theory on love that you can interrogate for yourself. What you take away from it is your business…. No ten step programme, no quick fixes.  Absolutely delicious!!!

THE FOUR AGREEMENTS: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom, A Toltec Wisdom Book by Don Miguel Ruiz

I’ve read this book once before and am again  amazed at how simple and powerful these agreements are. My favourite is the  agreement to “be impeccable with your word”. I truly believe that what we say about ourselves and others directly shapes our lives. I would encourage you to at least experiment with the first agreement for 30 days and observe how your life changes. Drop me a line and let me know!

CARE OF THE SOUL- How To Add Depth And Meaning To  Your Everyday Life by Thomas Moore

The important theme in this book is “CARE”. Sometimes we look at the situations in our lives as problems that have to be cured or fixed. Thomas Moore offers a different approach – ongoing care and attention in which we become the observers of our lives without judgment looking into our stories with our imagination to see what wants to be revealed. In taking the time to sit with whatever and all that comes our way we will be caring for our soul and inviting transformation into our lives as opposed to forcing it. I think this will be a book which will offer different and deeper insights each time it is read.

WOMEN, FOOD AND GODAn Unexpected Path To Almost Everything by Geneen Roth

This book has a somewhat misleading title because it is about SO MUCH MORE than what it purports to be about.  It is a book for anyone who really wants to understand their deepest yearning for spirit. It invites  the reader to move from just observing  their feelings to actually engaging with their feelings. The huge revelation here is that your feelings will not destroy you. “Imagine not being frightened by any feeling. Imagine knowing that nothing will destroy you. That you are beyond any feeling, any state. Bigger than. Vaster than” An incredibly powerful read and the added bonus is that your obsession with food or any other drug can finally come to an end!

HAPPIER THAN GOD – Turn Ordinary Life into an Extraordinary Experience by Neale Donald Walsch

Don”t be put off by the title to this book. It offers great insight into the so called “Law of attraction” or “personal creation” and why you might feel that it is not working for you. It outlines what Neale Donald Walsch terms the “5 great principles of life and asks two thought provoking  questions “what can i give to another?” and “what can I give to myself?” If these two questions spark anything in you then this book is a must. It may just provide the missing link to your creative powers!

SPIRITUAL PARTNERSHIP – The Journey to Authentic Power by Gary Zukav

I found this to be quite a dense read, though the content appealed to me. This book revists alot of what we already know but what I enjoyed was the confirmation that we are moving from five sensory perception to multi- sensory perception and what that means for us in terms of the meaning we find in our life and the reasons that we seek to be in partnership with A. N. Other.
